| Positions
of responsibility |
| To
get the best out of your years at university you need to combine work with leisure
in the most effective proportion. Remember that future employers want to know
what clubs you were in and what 'positions of responsibility' you held. They think
that by knowing you were President of the Anglo-Mongolian Society, they can tell
just how good an accountant you are going to be. |

| Writing
essays |
| Doing
essays is rather like doing your washing; it is a boring fortnightly chore, taking
months if you try to produce a neat finished product with all the kinks ironed
out, but just a couple of hours if you merely want to keep yourself covered. |
| |
| Bank
accounts |
| When
it comes to opening your bank account, whatever you do, don't go to your local
branch. The further away from your bank manager (i.e. interviews on how you're
going to work off your debts) the better. Open your account at the most distant
bank from where you live, e.g. if at Exeter, open an account at the Kirkwall,
Orkney branch of the Bank of Scotland. |
| |
| Easy
does it |
| Have
no qualms about working as economically as possible because: a)
the last thing most tutors want is a student who knows more about the subject
than they do b) the essays they like
marking least are the longest and most detailed ones c)
so long as you don't fail your degree, your actual or expected grade makes no
difference at all to prospective employers. |
| |
| Student
government |
| Getting
involved in student politics is very easy. It requires no commitment, and it doesn't
matter what your real beliefs are. So long as you stand for election to any student
union post on the 'I'm not political' ticket you'll be voted in easily, and any
union post is seen by employers as a 'position of responsibility'. |

your skills.....get ready for the all new students. Fantastic, i read this book
in 1 hour, and it will definitely come with me to uni. Learn how to get a degree
with minimum effort (sorry-no effort), maximum satisfaction!!! If you are looking
at going uni, or you know someone who is, or even if you're there, and they/you
are of a social, loafing nature, this book is for you. |
